About me
Hi! My name is Steve Krawczuk and I just graduated from Montclair State University with
a B.A. in Sociology. I am 23 years old and I hope to attend graduate school to earn a
Ph.D. in Sociology. One of my career goals is to become a university professor.
When I was a student at MSU, I was interested in the following question: how are
persons with facial acne perceived by others? I worked on two projects that explored
the relevance of facial acne. After I graduated from MSU, I realized that a web-based
survey on the Internet might be a fun and innovative way of collecting data. The ACNE
web-site was an experiment. I had not seen any web-based sociological surveys on the
Internet; I was really excited with the prospect of creating a web-survey.
Despite what you may think, I am not obsessed with the topic of acne. I intend to
develop several more web-based surveys, and NOT ONE of them will be about facial acne.
Really.
Besides Sociology, I am also interested in filmmaking. I have made several short films
already, but all of these films were quite silly. Now I am ready to make films that deal
with "serious" topics (i.e. sexism, homophobia, etc.). I am particularly
intrigued with the documentary film genre, and I hope to begin work on a documentary in
the upcoming year.
