SORAC now requires an annual membership subscription from its members.

The rates are as follows:

- Faculty and other professionals: US $50 per year
- Institutional: US $150 per year
- Students: US $30 per year.

The benefits are:

- automatic and free subscription to the SORAC Journal of African Studies. Copies can either be sent to you, or a password provided to you for online access to the articles when the journal becomes available online..

- rebate on SORAC's international conference fees. 

- several other membership benefits.

To become a member of SORAC, do the following:

1. Print and complete our membership application form.
2. Make your check (US Bank check) or money order (in US dollars) payable to: SORAC/MSU. (You may also pay via Western Union -- Credit Card payment coming soon).
3. Send your duly completed application form and payment to our mailing address.
