Wireless Information at MSU

Where are there wireless areas on campus?

At present, there are a number of wireless areas on campus. Please check this list for periodic updates. If there is an area on campus that you know is wireless, but is not listed here, please notify the webmaster and we will update the information on this page.

  • Chapin Hall - Curriculum Resource Center, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors
  • College Hall - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors
  • Dickson Hall - All areas
  • Partridge Hall - All floors
  • Richardson Hall - 1st and 2nd floors

What kinds of wireless cards will work with the MSU wireless network?

Any wireless card, configured properly, should be able to access the wireless network.

How do I configure my wireless card to access the MSU network?

Your wireless card and software should come with instructions for configuring the card to pick up local networks.

I configured my card correctly and it is picking up the network signal, but when I try to get on the Internet I see a page that says I need to register with MSU. What do i do?

You need to register your laptop to access the MSU network. Simply follow the instructions if you are an MSU student, faculty or staff member.

Where can I purchase a wireless card for my laptop?

You can purchase a wireless card and software from any computer vendor, or through the MSU bookstore.
