Founded
in 1908, Montclair State University was awarded university
status by the state of New Jersey in 1994. As the second
largest university in New Jersey -- with approximately 15,500

or full professor cultural anthropologist for an active
scholar/teacher with strong track record in political
economy, public or applied anthropology, or contemporary
theory. Must demonstrate the ability to bring theory
to practice in at least one of the following areas:
health disparities, public health, mental health,
or health policy; race and ethnicity; immigration,
the study of diasporas, transnationalism; community-state
relations, and community development. Experience in
using various methodologies, including quantitative
methods, desireable. Administrative and/or teaching
experience in graduate programs expected. The successful
candidate will teach existing survey courses (for
our general education program), electives, and develop
graduate courses in cultural anthropology.

Responsibilities
related to administration and facilities. At the
administrative level, provide support for daily
operations relating to the University Administrative
Calendar. Recruit faculty for university and college-wide
committees. Coordinate procedures to ensure that
university and college procedures/policies and administrative
deadlines are adhered to. Coordinate procedures
for department chair's election and mid-term evaluations.
In consulation with Dean, coordinate space allocations.
Function as liaison with Provost Office regarding
administrative support and information, faculty
bios and capital construction.

Qualifications
& Requirements:
|
Ph.D.,
four to five years of experience as full time faculty.
Experience in an administrative leadership capacity
within an academic setting.
|

Description:

Reports
directly to the Institutes Director. Responsible
for daily operations. Main duties and responsibilities:
Manage details associated with Institute academic
and cultural programming (contract preparation and
speakers honoraria; publicity materials and press
releases, and events logistics), assist the Director
in preparing and managing the Institutes budget.
He/she is expected to assist Director with grant
proposals; design and manage all aspect of fundraising
events; generate reports and meeting minutes for
the Institutes Board; and manage the Institutes
newsletter.

Qualifications
& Requirements:
|
B.A.,
M.A. preferred. Excellent interpersonal, organizational
and communications skills. Experience in grant seeking/writing,
fund raising and event planning. Proficient in Microsoft,
Excel, and Outlook.

Hours per week.
