Every semester, the Sociology Department organizes a New York City walk.

The Fall 2002 walk was held on October 19, and it covered 42nd Street, the New York Public Library, Grand Central Station, Chinatown, Downtown, and Battery Park.

These walks, which start at midmorning on a Saturday each semester, depart from the Port Authority Bus Station and cover a wide territory on foot.

The walks are led informally by department faculty who live in Manhattan. There is no sign-up and everyone is welcome.
