DESCRIPTION             Tenure-track position.  Assistant Professor in Sociology with expertise in structure and processes of social inequality.
Teaching responsibilities will include a mix of introductory and advanced subjects consistent with the candidate’s expertise
such as social stratification, racial and ethnic relations, development/third world/globalization, migrant labor, gender
stratification and/or aging. The successful applicant will be expected to teach from a global perspective, to develop a
productive research program and to generate external support for her or his research program. The candidate is also
expected to collaborate actively in the department’s curriculum renewal process. 
 

QUALIFICATIONS       Ph.D. in Sociology. Doctorate required at the time of appointment. Candidates should have strong research skills,
teaching experience, and demonstrate potential for grant acquisition.
