Final Examination
Spot the issues and completely resolve them. The exam is due
May 9, 2006 at 6:30 pm. We will have an hour or more review of the examination
at that time.
1. Design a private dispute resolution program in a private
sector for profit business for an industrial organization with special attention
to the legal issues that might arise at the hiring point and the termination
point.
A. List at least three DR mechanisms or tools that you would
use to resolve disputes.
B. Identify at least three danger areas and how you would
avoid them.
C. Explain what you might do differently if your company
was:
i. Extremely mature.
ii. Professional
2. Bif Ringworm is the human resource director for the Very
Powerful Corporation of America. He has been given the job of constructing
a prehiring mechanism that will maximize the inherent conflict management
elements of the workforce and the workplace. He wishes to minimize disputes
that go to formal dispute resolution. Design a hiring mechanism to accomplish
his goals in a professional, mature, and single location psychological services
organization.
