The Campus Mediation Center’s primary purpose is to provide students of Montclair State University direct assistance in creatively and nonviolently resolving their interpersonal disputes. Primary functions of the Campus Mediation is to provide trained volunteer mediators under faculty supervision who help facilitate a problem-solving process that supports the collaborative resolution of disputes and still leaves the final responsibility or resolving the dispute up to parties involved.  The process of assisting parties in reaching an agreement or resolving their disputes is intended to be impartial and free from any threat or perceived threat of any student, administrative or academic manipulation.
